Ranges are the 25th and 75th percentile scores of students who enrolled in fall 2024. Being inside the range means your scores are typical for the school; it does not predict admission. Many colleges are test-optional. Source: College Scorecard, October 15, 2026.

How to read the results

Colleges report the 25th and 75th percentile scores of students who enrolled. Half of students scored inside that range.

  • In range: your scores look like a typical student's.
  • Above range: your scores are a strength for that college.
  • Below range: the college is a reach on scores. If it is test-optional, you can choose not to send them.

When you enter both SAT sections, we compare each section with its own range. With a total only, we compare it with the sum of the section ranges, which is an approximation.

Scores are only part of it

Grades and course choices usually matter more. For fall 2024, 1,003 four-year colleges said test scores were considered but not required. See what is a good SAT score for how scores vary across colleges.
